Ingredients:
First the crust - 1 box Red Velvet Cake Mix (or white cake mix with red food coloring), prepared according to box directions. Pour 1/2 of cake mix into a greased 9-inch springform pan and bake according to the directions on the box for a 9-inch layer cake. Discard extra batter. Allow cake layer to cool completely in the pan. Set aside.
Now the cheesecake:
- 16 ounces cream cheese, room temperature
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/4 tsp almond extract
- 2 large eggs
- 1/4 cup sour cream
- food colouring
In a large bowl, beat cream cheese, sugar, vanilla and almond extract until smooth. Beat in eggs one at a time, then add in sour cream.
Divide mixture into 5 small bowls and add the following colors to each one: pink, yellow, blue, green and purple. Pour batters onto cake base in the 9-inch springform pan. Do not swirl too much, so the colors will be clearly visible.
Bake 35 minutes, until the center is just about set when you jiggle the pan. Allow to cool completely and refrigerate before serving. Run a knife around the cake to release it before removing sides of pan. Serves 12.

Have a wonderful day Kai!
Oh that looks so amazing, I want it right now! I am definitely going to have to try and make that. It also must be getting close to lunch time because just looking at the picture is making my stomach rumble :)
Thanks for your comment by the way, my week has gotten much better since that heck of a monday I had!
Kai, I do hope you are storing all these recipes somewhere easy for me to access when I get home. I am going to do better after this deployment and eat at home rather than eating out every meal. This looks good, and like you said, it's cheesecake, how can you go wrong.
i have so got to try this!
Have you tried making it? i demand you make it and then tell us how easy it was.
Otherwise i will set the rozzers onto ya!
It definitely looks interesting.
Tie-dyed Cheesecake, who would have thought?
Great find!
Wouldn't the kids just go wild for this!? Mine would just LOVE it! What a great treat. (I bet you could do just the green dye for St. Pat's coming up)
I think I'd rather wear it than eat it... you guys MUST be hungry!
I am at work ( not working :) and just showed this to a couple of the girls we are going to steal this recipe ( not me I don't bake) but you made my collegues very happy with this.
I can't make things like this... because I would EAT it all by myself! The kids would have to fight me for it - I have a big weakness for baking!
:-)
Hey 'B', that's cool, I'm glad they liked it!
That is way too cool! Very fun.
Congratulations, this post has been nominated for a Hot Stuff Award at GNMParents (www.gnmparents.com)
Voting closes Friday
Good Luck
Good thing I'm catching up on some of your posts I missed. I just bookmarked this so I can come back when I have an opportunity to make this for someone other than me, haha. I would so eat the whole thing myself if I didn't have other people to help me with it.
