You may remember that while waiting for the moving truck to come two months ago, I took pictures of the ground floor of our house. Most importantly the corner that was just screaming for a home bar:
The Mountie has been working his little heart out the past couple of weeks, and while there is still a bit to do, the corner now looks like this:
The Mountie had the fantastic idea of buying a large electric fireplace to use as a bar - it's the perfect size and height! AND, it has storage on one side of the insert for red wine, and a wine cooler on the other side for white!
So we and our friends (all two of them) can sit and warm out tootsies while sipping our drinks and visiting. Instead of buying a pre-made bar, we bought a electric fireplace, which works just as well or better as a regular bar!
He's also put in a counter, sink and cabinet behind the bar:
...which isn't permanently attached, so we can take it apart and it can come with us on the next move.
The Mountie still wants to get rid of that ugly top shelf, and make some sort of drop down from the ceiling where we can hang the wine glasses, but it's coming along quite nicely don't you think?
